Epanomi PDI Wines enter the Russian Market

n the context of the program “Promoting Wine Epanomi Zone Protected Geographical Indication Wines in the USA, Canada, Russia and Australia (second year)” implemented by NOVACERT as Implementing Body, the publicity and promotion actions of “PGI Epanomi” Greek wines in the Russian market are in full progress . More specifically, on Wednesday February 11th, a thematic tasting dinner was held at Moscow restaurant “Vasanta” (https://www.facebook.com/Vasanta14), while on Thursday, February 12th  a tasting event and dinner at specialist wine bar BRIX-II was held (http://brix-bar.ru/bar-2/brix-story).

Tasting was for famous Domaine Gerovassiliou wines, namely the white varieties Malagouzia and Chardonnay and red “Gerovassiliou” and “Avaton”. The events were attended by wine importers and Russian market shareholders, journalists from leading magazines and numerous wine friends. It is worth noting that the event was also attended by the Consul General of Greece in Moscow Ms. Michalopoulou Eleni, who actively supports the effort. Further, publicity and promotion activities generated high interest of local television networks, which made extensive presentation of Greek wines to the Russian public. Along with the above events, a publicity campaign has been launched in large circulation newspapers and magazines of Russia. The “PGI Epanomi” Greek wines excite those who taste them, and in conjunction with the growing Russian demand, all conditions are ideally formed to promote exports of Greek Wine in one of the largest markets in the world.
